Anello Photonics introduces a groundbreaking technology with the SiPhOG (Silicon Photonics Optical Gyroscope), which operates on the same principles as the traditional interferometric fiber optic gyroscope. Simply put, SiPhOG launches phased modulated light into a waveguide, where it encounters equal but opposing additional phase shifts during rotation, a phenomenon known as the Sagnac Effect. Upon returning from the waveguide, the light is directed into a photodetector, where the interference between the two return beams generates a signal linearly correlated with the angular rate. This innovative approach promises enhanced precision and reliability in gyroscopic sensing applications, marking a significant advancement in the field of optical sensing technology.
